Floral Formers
for glass fusers and slumpers

Using a Floral former Candle cup Mold
Place a round or square piece of glass on top of the form and heat your kiln. The glass will fall down and fold around the form to create a folded glass vase. Made from high temperature metal. (Don't use ceramic forms for this technique, the glass will break.) Remember always coat forms with kiln wash or sometimes the thin fiber paper works in place of kiln wash.
Set up your piece of glass on the floral former mold as pictured.
Your kiln must be deep enough so the glass is 4 or more inches
away from the top elements or the glass often breaks. Side elements
work better. Grind your edges before firing, the kiln will not
get hot enough to round the glass edge. Heat slowly, watch, and
turn off kiln when you see what you like.
This finished project started with a round/circle piece of Spectrum
green iridized glass. Notice the top edge is flat because we started with a round piece.
