Kiln
This
kiln uses common available household electricity, 115 volts at
14 amps. The cost of electricity to run this kiln for one hour
at full power is approximately 18 cents per hour. Kiln is equiped
with a digital controller. This kiln is made with insulated fire
brick and stainless steel. It can also be used for fusing glass,
ceramics, copper enameling, or many different uses. This style
kiln has the unique feature of being modular and stacking. This
allows you to add accessories to turn the kiln into a flameworkers
beadmaking kiln, a casting kiln or kilns for other uses! All
kilns should be kept 12" from any flammable materials.

This and all standard electric
crucible kilns do not get hot enough to melt borosilica because
of its extra high melting temperature.
WARNING - you must be qualified
to purchase this crucible kiln. What we mean is that all crucible
kilns are high maintenance. When running a kiln at the temperature
of molten glass, occasionally elements will need to be changed,
bricks will need to be repaired, switches need to be replaced,
etc. To buy this kiln you need to have the ability to
make these maintenance repairs. We sell all of the replacement
parts. In addition, a warranty is not available for this kiln
due to the fact that parts are expected to be replaced. Our technicians
are available to help you with any questions on repairing the
kiln.
