With a low thermal expansion coefficient, borosilicate glass has a higher resistance to thermal shock than regular glass and soft glass like Moretti. This makes the glass useful when composing large glass sculptures in the torch flame. There are several brands of Borosilicate all of which are mostly mutually compatible such as Pyrex, Northstar, Alchemy, Sunsilica, Simax, Duran, Borostix, Kimble, Precision, Momka, and there is also available decorative murrini and dichroic with the same compatibility.
