Most all of the filtering lenses available anywhere comes from the same factory in Germany. So the only difference between where you buy your glasses is: the style of the frame and how much you pay. Fit Over Style fits over most prescription glasses

The below only applies to the Green Ace IR's
Most glasses come in a Shade 3 or a Shade 5.
But the visibility is almost the same between a shade 3 and a shade 5 for these Green Ace IR's.
So why not just get the Shade 5 which has more protection and almost the same good visibility.

Four Basic Types of Glasses

Rose Didymium We and no one carries anymore, there are a lot better glasses out here.	Enhanced Didymium MMore of the Didymium (we carry 202ACE) standard glass workers glasses, blocks bright yellow flare, but not much UV and no IR. Most soft glass beadmakers use this filtering lens. A Shade 2, 3 or 5 Lens Blocks UV and IR, but not the filtering of the bright yellow flare found in didymium, you may still need didymium. Three ways to add this UV and IR protection to your didymium glasses 1) Clip on - see the above picture.  2) Fitover - large frames fits over other glasses. 3) Or use the Green ACE IR pictured to the right, it does it all in one. You will notice minimal difference in UV and IR protection between shades but a whole lot of reduced visibility as the shade darkens. In other words - do you want to give up a lot of your visibility for just a little more protection? This is a decision you need to make. These are not Didymiums. Usually used in combination with the didymium glasses shown above on this page. Using the below glasses is an inexpensive way to add more protection to the above didymiums. It is common for people working with borosilicate glass, (when the flame is extra bright, or when fuming metals onto the glass) to use the below glass in conjunction with didymium.
