Controls and Suitability
The Carlisle Black Widow is a totally surface mixed 4 inlet burner that offers a high level of versatility in the flame. This wide range of flame capabilities makes the Black Widow the perfect bench burner for beginners and experts alike.
Glasses worked The Widow is the perfect torch for any
Borosilicate worker as well as the soft glass bead maker or master
sculptor.
Torch Arrangement The center fire of the Black Widow is exactly the same as the Mini CC, Seven tubes, then using the outer two adjusting knobs you enable
38 more tubes to give you a much broader range of heat to work with.
Construction The body of the Black Widow is constructed of brass and has a stainless steel nose cone to help the torch run cooler and prevent heat build-up. The tube matrix, which is constructed of seven tubes in the center and
38 tubes on the outer fire, is made of stainless steel.
Torch Mount The Widow base is something entirely unique.
It can be adjusted vertically to accommodate the standing artist or a
larger piece of artwork. The head of the torch is also adjustable in a
front-to-back motion (almost straight up or down) and turns 360°.
Fuel and Oxygen Use Consumption based on standard usage is
approximately 80 CFH (cubic foot per hour) of propane and 448 CFH of
oxygen. This burner may be used with oxygen and either natural gas,
propane, or even hydrogen. The recommended operating pressures are 2 PSI
(Pounds per Square Inch) for fuel gas and 20 PSI for oxygen.

Two regulators are required when you use a two gas, (oxygen and propane) torch.
They fit between the gas tanks and the gas hose.
None are needed if you are using the Hot Head torch. Oxygen Regulator is
not needed if you are using an Oxygen Concentrator.

Gas Hoses
Use this
hose when you use a two gas torch (oxygen and propane) like a Minor Burner.
To attach torch, push the cut ends onto the torch and secure with a hose clamp. These
hoses have two attached hoses, one for oxygen and one for propane. The brass end
of the hoses are attached to the gas regulators. Propane hose fittings are left handed threads and colored red and oxygen is right handed
and colored green - This prevents a mix-up when attaching hoses.
CAUTION
Do not use the easy to find oxygen/acetylene type hoses. The propane gas
will rot them. The hoses we sell are made for all types of gas including
propane. Hose ends have female brass fittings.

Flashback Arrestors
In some rare situations, a flame can travel back down a hose to the gas tank and cause an explosion.
This device helps prevent this reverse gas flow and flashback by using a reverse flow check valve and a flame arrestor.
